Point To Christ

We are in Holy Week leading up to Easter. This celebration is the pinnacle of our Christian faith. The cross. The grave. The resurrection. Forgiveness. New Beginnings. Eternal life. Joyful hope. Healing.

How do these things become a person’s reality? What thread runs through them? It’s Jesus, the Christ!

God has a strategic plan in place. “When the time had fully come” is a phrase often used in the Scriptures. When the time had come, a baby was born. When the time had come, Jesus died on a cross, was buried in a tomb, and rose on the third day. When the time comes, He will return to earth as a gentle, all-powerful King. As the Friend of all who believed on Him. This is really going to happen!

The Scriptures continually point to Christ. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. The only path to God the Father. (Jn. 14:6) God brilliantly sculpted salvation to flow through Jesus to humanity. He is making all things new. (Rev. 21:5) History and eternity pivot on Jesus, the God-man. His life accomplishes two very important transactions.  He represents and joins. He represents God to man and man to God. He joins God to man and man to God. His life is the essence of both those processes.

Jesus, the Christ! His life and work demand a response. He is Heir to God’s Kingdom and serves His Father’s interests. His interests happen to involve people. Every person on the globe deserves the opportunity to respond to Jesus by faith. No one deserves salvation. Ever. However, salvation is God’s plan, His provision, made available to all people, everywhere. If people never hear about this – if we do nothing to spread this good news – then Christ’s death was in vain. Everyone should be given the opportunity to know God loves them . . . deeply. How will they respond if they don’t hear? How will they hear if someone doesn’t tell them? (Rom. 10:14-15)

Jesus reaches to all people of all cultures. He eliminates all boundaries of status between people even as He reinforces individual value. He welcomes anyone into His family as an heir with Christ. A child of God.

God’s global passion became documented history at the cross. Jesus’ arms reach from one eternity to the other. The beam of a cross proves it. Unbelievable opportunities come from Jesus. He opens locked doors. Restores. Intervenes. Rescues.

Christ’s loving power sustains all things and holds all things together. (Col. 1:17) God’s eternal government, indeed, is on Christ’s shoulders. No wonder He is given names like Wonderful Counselor. Mighty God. Everlasting Father. Prince of Peace.

Questions About Your Life Are you intentionally partnering with Jesus in your life? Have you allowed the cross to affect your daily scenarios? Do you remind yourself often that God deeply loves you? In what ways are you trusting Him with all your heart? Not leaning on your own understanding? Acknowledging His headship? (Prov. 3:5-6) Has Easter made a difference in you?

Questions About The Global Billion What specific ways are you reaching a globe of people who deserve to know about Jesus? How can you engage practical care for the earth’s people? Are you willing to step out of your comfort zone to take care of Father’s interests?

“I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some . . . for the sake of the gospel . . .” (1 Cor. 9:22,23)

Won’t you deliberately point to Christ with all your heart?

If you have not trusted Jesus Christ for salvation, today is a great day to Make This Decision. God truly loves you, more than you can ever imagine. Won’t you come to the cross and respond to God’s gracious invitation?
